I heard the 90’s were back! Who else grew up with one of these doorway bouncers? We called it a “Johnny Jump-up” at my house growing up and I was thrilled to see my mom still had one after all these years. My daughter LOVED it so much that I decided to get one for our place! She’s been using it for the last 6 months and it’s been one of my favorite purchases yet.
I’m pretty selective when it comes to baby gear. We live in a VERY TINY 100 year old home. Space and storage is not our friend. So I’m picky about what we bring in: I don’t want it to take up a ton of space and I don’t want it to only be loved for a minute. I also don’t want it to be ugly (who does?!). I was delighted to find that the Graco Doorway Bumper Jumper was under $40 on amazon prime (most jumpers run around $75+). It comes in a few different fabrics/patterns but this one is my favorite. It comes with a tray that is perfect for little snacks and an easy to wash liner (the fabric is reversible, and I preferred the green print over the blue so switched it out!). I also replaced the toys with some of her favorites (that are a bit cuter too). While it’s not the most aesthetic baby product, I still adore it because it’s so simple to store (it lays flat under her crib, out of site).
If those weren’t reasons enough to love it, here are a few more: It has saved me tons of time! I can attach it to doorways in my kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, etc. I can fold laundry, clean, and do ALL THE THINGS hands free while baby is delightfully playing in-sight. The other big benefit that I hadn’t anticipated is the developmental strength she’s gained by jumping around! The height is adjustable and has grown with her and I truly believe her using this has helped her gain muscle and movement. She’s almost 11 months so we are using it less, but I pulled it out yesterday to see what she thought and she giggled at the sight of it! She still loves it!
I’d highly recommend the Graco Doorway Bumper Jumper low-cost/high-benefit product to any mama!
