1st Birthday Gifts

My little lover turned 1 this past month. ONE! She’s been with me an entire year! In true new-mom fashion I went all out for her birthday. Balloons! Smash cake! Party hats! THE WORKS! We invited family and close friends to come celebrate the momentous occasion and the day will forever be a favorite of mine.

She was kindly gifted so many adorable things, I thought I’d share some of our favorites in hopes they might help you with gifting a 1 year old in your life!

xoxo,
C

Melt Mama’s Heart

I’m a sucker for nostalgia and sentiment and melted at the thoughtfulness of hand-made gifts and old favorites made-new for my little one. These also made the list for melting mama’s heart!

My parents have a tradition of getting their grandkids a Rocking Chair for their 1st birthday. I opted for this gorgeous spindle rocking chair in cherry to match her crib. She ADORES sitting in it so proud of her big self! I love that she will enjoy and use it for years to come. I plan on painting her name across the back and adorning it with little wildflowers.

J gifted her this gorgeous sweater and it’s so beautiful that I currently have it hanging on my daughter’s door as decor! It looks heirloom and comes is several beautiful color ways. Thanks J!

When I opened the box to find a Keepsake handprint and footprint taken THAT DAY to document her 1st birthday, I cried! It was such a thoughtful gift for my mom to do that while I was busily preparing for the day. *This is a fantastic gift for a newborn!

My girl only recently started hugging and loving on her stuffed animals so it was time to get her a baby doll! We opted for the HABA plush doll and it’s the perfect size and weight for her to tote around and smother in slobbery kisses.

I’ve been making my daughter a “quiet book” but haven’t quite finished it yet. I have my eye on this one, it brings back floods of memories and happy feelings from my own childhood! Also loving the creativity of this one.

Books

I’ve talked about it before, but baby books are my weakness. I love reading myself and hope to instill a love of books for my daughter. So far, she’s sold! And how lucky that we got to add so many new reads to her library:

The night you were born a classic! I remember the illustrations from my own childhood. 38% off right now!
You are my happy a new favorite that captures those early years so beautifully with word and illustration.
I love you to the Moon and Back Gifted from her Gram..grab the tissues! (just under 50% off right now!).
123 of Thankfulness Start those manners young with BOGO 1/2 off sale right now! Stock up for gifting!
A is for Atom & Baby’s first Eames were sent from my sister in Philly! She knows my affinity for mid-century-modern all too well!
Someday This New York Times Best Seller will make you want to stop time. Thank you to my oldest friend for gifting this to my little one!

Busy Baby Favorites

This one-year-old is one busy babe! Every day she’s growing and becoming more curious. I love seeing her explore and try new things. These gifts are perfect for 1 year olds!

My father-in-law grew up on a farm so it was so fitting to gift my daughter this John Deere tractor. GUYS. I know this might seem like a boy-toy but my little girl can’t get enough of it! She proudly pushes it around, climbs a top it, and honks the horn. It’s a total winner!

My sweet mother-in-law found this inny cube toy which is genius! Gone are the frustrations of trying to fit a round peg into a square hole, literally! This cube flexible fits all shapes making it an enjoyable experience for baby to put objects in and pull them out.

Battat Ball & Hammer Toy I’m amazed at how long this toy can hold her attention! She loves whacking away with her little hammer and placing the balls back herself. It comes in several colors but this one is on sale now!

My aunt is always sending the sweetest packages and this “My Little Picnic” plush picnic set did not disappoint! My girl loves pulling out the plush toys (which each make a different sound, rattle, or crinkle).

Bath time got even better with these Munchkin Bath Toys from my niece and nephew!

J has shared these wooden magnets before and knew they’d be a hit with my love! She gifted her the “First Words” set and the illustrations are to die for. This has been my little one’s most-loved gift. She walks out to the fridge every morning and pulls them all off (we are still working on putting them back up) and walks around the house with 2-3 in each fist. I keep finding them in my shoes 🙂 They have several adorable options so make sure to checkout their storefront here.

It's a big oops not having this book in your libra It's a big oops not having this book in your library!

The "book fairy" (as we lovingly call the anonymous stranger who has secretly left books on our porch for a year!) delivered this gem at THE PERFECT TIME (we are potty training over here!). No, this book isn't about toilets and such. But it is a beautiful and accessible message about making the most out of any "oops" that might come your way. It has tabs and pulls and all the tricks that tiny hands love and I'm sure you and your littles will enjoy it just as much as we have!
