I honestly never, in a million years, pictured myself writing a blog post in a public space about LUBRICANT. And don’t worry, this isn’t a lesson about the birds and the bees and we aren’t about to get down and dirty. But I do have to share this product with you all because it has been an absolute Godsend for me postpartum.
Without going into graphic detail, my baby’s beautiful birth and 8th percentile tiny head did a number on me down under. I had relatively normal tearing in the normal place. But I also experienced a severe internal tearing that required lots of stitches. When healing seemed to….take longer than I expected, I visited a pelvic floor physical therapist (HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ALL WOMEN!) and we were able to identify some pain points due to scarring. Fast forward several months and I was still not feeling…totally “back” as they say. I eventually got blood work done which showed I was severely low in estrogen. Hormones are a rollercoaster in all phases of mothering but can take a dramatic dip due to breastfeeding.
Where does lube come in? A possible symptom of low estrogen is dryness. I needed a solution that felt safe to use regularly and I’d seen enough about Coconu on instagram to finally give it a go. I WISH I HAD THIS SOONER. I wish I had this on my honeymoon! I wish I’d had it all along. It will forever be my nightstand bestie and I’m a sucker for the single use packs for travel too!
*Just in case you were concerned about my bits: they’ve made a fantastic recovery! I credit it to a combination of changing things about my diet/lifestyle to help improve my hormones, finishing my breastfeeding journey (so proud and so glad to be done!), my work with the pelvic floor therapist, and this lovely Coconu that literally slid into my life and just the right time 😉
Women’s health in general, but particularly postpartum, shouldn’t be a taboo topic. Which is why I’m willing to go down there! Sorry mom, I had to 🙂

It comes in two options:
-Oil based
-Water Based
I tried a small two pack at first to test them both out. I’m a BIG fan of the water based option myself.
