We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again! C & I have the same taste buds! We always order the same thing when we go out and we find ourselves gravitating toward the same snacks and treats each time we’re together. One of our ALL-TIME favorite treats is the famous Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Apple Pie Caramel Apple. So we decided to try to recreate it and not to spoil the ending or anything, but WE DID AND THEY ARE SO GOOD AND SO SIMPLE!!!!
Ingredients:
- 6 Granny Smith Apples
- 2 Bags of Kraft Caramel Bits
- 1 24oz Almond Bark Bar
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup White Sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 5 inch Bamboo Treat Sticks
- Parchment Paper
Directions:
- Add caramel packs to pan on medium/low heat and melt according to package (the kind we linked called for 2TB of water per package) Stir frequently
- While caramel is melting, wash and dry apples, remove stems
- Poke bamboo treat sticks into tops of apples
- Rip off a sheet of parchment paper and spray with cooking spray to prevent sticking
- Place the greased parchment paper on a cookie sheet
- Dip apples into caramel and use a spoon if necessary to get all areas of apple covered. Scrape off any excess caramel off the bottom to prevent pooling
- Place on parchment paper/cookie sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour to let caramel set
- Melt the almond bark according to package.
- While melting the almond bark, mix cinnamon and sugar ingredients together into a bowl
- Once melted, dip each apple into the almond bark and immediately sprinkle the apples with the cinnamon sugar mixture, generously.
- Place the finished apples in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to set.
- Cut into 8 slices and ENJOY!!!
If you feel intimidated, DON’T! They really are so simple, and if they don’t look beautiful, they will still taste amazing, I promise!! XOXO
